Allison Rutter: Analyst

As a member of the Built Environment Team, Allison is a LEED Accredited Professional and EIT, with a background in mechanical engineering and business. She is a former Project Engineer with Staengl Engineering, where she designed HVAC systems for high performance buildings. Allison has worked on energy modeling for a number of LEED projects, as well as efficient building systems design for historical renovations, office buildings, culinary kitchens, dance studios, green residences, and school buildings. At RMI, Allison is involved with performing energy modeling, consulting on corporate and building level sustainability issues, reviewing LEED projects, and researching innovative building systems technologies.

Background

Ms. Rutter has worked with Galen Staengl of Staengl Engineering and previously with Rumsey Engineers. Staengl Engineering, located in Charlottesville, Virginia specializes in energy efficient HVAC design. Ms. Rutter designed HVAC systems, performed load calculations, and focused on energy modeling during her time at Staengl Engineering. Prior to joining Staengl Engineering, Ms. Rutter completed her degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration at the University of Portland. While attending UP, she held numerous positions with the Society of Automotive Engineers, previously a member of the Mini Baja Team, chairperson of the Diversity Committee, and spent time as a lab assistant and student machinist.
