Steve Brauneis: Consultant

Mr. Brauneis focuses on sustainable design and construction strategies for a wide variety of project types including large-scale residential developments, office, municipal, institutional, educational and commercial facilities. His research efforts focus on the dynamics of implementing change within project teams to more efficiently achieve desired outcomes and corporate sustainability. As a member of RMI’s LEED Review team he has reviewed hundreds of projects throughout the nation.

Background

Steve Brauneis has worked in sustainable building design, corporate sustainability program development and implementation, eco-efficiency program design & implementation, sustainable building material purchasing, construction, and environmental education.

Past Projects

Mr. Brauneis was the Director of Sustainability for a mid-size chain of lumberyards, his responsibilities included evaluation of all company inputs and consumables including, products for sale, vehicles, energy and fuels, lighting, solid waste and building operations and design. He was the LEED project manager for construction of the Gold-certified Hayward Building Systems production and office facility. Operational efficiency and profitable green product line management were his focus. Outreach efforts included green building workshops for internal sales force and professional contractors.
