Daybreak Residential/Commercial Community — South Jordan, Utah
Kennecott Land worked with Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) on the development of residential and commercial sustainability guidelines for what has become the fastest-selling community in Utah. RMI’s assistance ranged from initial design and statistical analysis of energy and water consumption to research aimed at a net-zero energy strategy. The Daybreak community features:

- LEED for New Construction v2.1 Silver elementary/recreation center
- Pursuing LEED for Neighborhood Development Pilot Program
- Pursuing LEED for Core & Shell v2.0 Platinum corporate center
- Parks, open spaces, and wetlands

Results

RMI continues to work with Kennecott Land to develop resources to cost-effectively improve home performance.
