RMI Attends Clinton Global Initiative Meeting

Amory Lovins and Greg Franta participated in the fourth annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) in New York recently.
The CGI convenes global leaders to devise and implement innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges including: improved education for nearly 8 million children, provided safe drinking water and sanitation for more than 3.5 million people, and increased access to or improved healthcare for 11.5 million people.
Bill Clinton called the participants “some of the world’s brightest minds and most innovative leaders.”
Franta and Lovins participated in the meeting’s energy and climate change focus area, honing in on four pivotal areas that can accelerate the progress of solving the climate crisis—energy efficiency, renewable energy, “clean transport,” and local leadership.
RMI is also a technical advisor to the Clinton Climate Initiative, a separate initiative focusing on solely on climate.
“The mix of global NGOs, politicians, business leaders, and solutions-oriented experts made the Clinton Global Initiative 2008 Annual Meeting an incredibly fruitful and powerful event,” Franta said.
